Given:

Mass of lift = 1000kg

Acceleration = 1 m/s²

g = 9.8 m/s²

To Find:

Tension developed in the string, which is connected to lift.

Solution:

As we know

T = m(g+_a)

Lift is moving upward So

T = m(g+a)

T = mg + ma

T = 1000×9.8 + 1000×1

T = 9800 + 1000

T = 10800 N

Hence, the tension developed in the string is 10800N.
