A light and heavy mass have equal kinetic energies. Which of the two will have a higher value of momentum? Why?

According to question,

A light body having mass = M1

A light body having velocity = V1

A heavy body having mass = M2

A heavy body having velocity = V2

Momentum of light body ,P1 = M1 × V1

Momentum of heavy body ,P2 = M2 × V2

Now, M1 is less than M2 (M1 < M2)

But, P1 = P2

That is, M1 × V1 = M2 × V2

As M2 is great so V2 is less than V1 to make them equal. So V1 is greater than V2.

Kinetic energy depends more on velocity than mass as ,K.E. = 1/2 × M1 × V1 ×V1

So kinetic energy of lighter body is more than faster body
