This phenomenon is due to Newton's Third Law of Motion
According to this law, each and every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
In this case, the ball striking the ground is action.
So, there must also be a reaction done.
Thus, the ground exerts a force equal and opposite in direction to the force of action. As a result, the ball rose upwards.
(In real life, you can see, the ball did not rise to the point from where it was thrown, this is due to a little portion of the energy was converted to heat and sound).
