This question is related to the concept of “Multiple Reflection”.

Angle of inclination=60°
So, 360/Theta-1

=360/60-1
=6-1
=5

So, 5 images will be formed , hence option c is correct.

The number of images formed is (c) 5

Given: A light bulb is placed between two plane mirrors inclined at an angle of 60°.

To Find: The number of images formed

Solution:

These questions can be solved via a simple trick,

Suppose the angle between the mirrors is x, so

  • If the value of 360/x comes out to be even, then we use the formula

              Number of images = 360/x - 1

  • If the value of 360/x comes out to be odd, then we use the formula
  •               Number of images = 360/x

Now, in this question, we see that,

                     360/60 = 6 , where 6 = even number.

So, the number of images formed is = 6 - 1

                                                                  = 5

Hence,  the number of images formed is (c) 5
