Given that,

Wavelength, \lambda=300\ nm

The work function of metal, W = 2.54 eV

To find,

The stopping potential of metal.

Solution,

The Einstein's photoelectric equation is given by :

\dfrac{hc}{\lambda}-W=eV_o

V_o is stopping potential

(\dfrac{6.63\times 10^{-34}\times 3\times 10^8}{3\times 10^{-7}}\ J)-2.54\ e=eV_o\\\\6.63\times 10^{-19}\ J-2.54\ e=eV_o\\\\4.14\ eV-2.54\ eV=eV_o\\\\V_o=1.6\ eV

So, the stopping potential is 1.6 eV.
