A light of wavelength 600 mm in air enters the glass of refractive index 4/3. Determine the speed, frequency and wavelength of light.

Answer: x = wavelength

v= velocity

Explanation:

 refractive index  is glass with  respect to air  = x air / x glass

x glass = 600 * 3/4

= 450 mm

refractive index  is glass with  respect to air  = v air / v glass

v glass = 3 * 10^8 * 3/4

= 2.25 * 10^8 m/s

v= n x

n= v/x

= 2.25 * 10^8 /45 * 10^-2

=  5 * 10^8 Hz
