As the light enters from A to B medium, refractive index depends upon the medium travel.

  • Let the refractive index from medium A is n1 and the refractive index of the medium B is n2.
  • Noe the light enters from A to B, which means that light will move away from the normal.
  • As the formula say n1 . sin(i)= n2 . sin(r)
  • n1/n2=sin(r)/sin(i)
  • Now it move away from the normal which means i>r
  • That says sin(i)>sin(r)
  • That can be written as 1>sin(r)/sin(i)
  • That means option B is correct
  • The refractive index less than one.
  • When we reverse whole process by B to A , that will give refractive index greater than one.
