of 55° relative to the mirror surface. At what angle
is the reflected ray relative to the surface?

Further on reflection, it makes the same angle i.e. angle of reflection is equal to angle of reflection. Hence, as angle of incidence is 55∘ angle of reflection too is 55∘ and the angle between the incident ray and the reflected ray is 55∘+55∘=110∘ .

Answer:

55°

Explanation:

If we draw the diagram, given angle is incident on the surface 55° with respect to the plane.

If we consider the normal at the point of incidence..

The angle made by the incident ray with the normal is (90-55)=35°

As the mirror law states angle of incidence = angle of reflection

The reflected ray makes an angle of 35° with respect to normal.

Thus the angle made by the reflected ray with respect to the plane surface is (90-35)=55°

Hope it helped.....
