Formula of a line in Slope-point form

If m is the slope and (x1,y1) is a point on the line then equation is given by

(y - y1 ) = m(x - x1)

From given info x1 is 5 and y1 is -7

slope m is -3

Putting these in above equation

y+7= -3×(x-5)

Simplifying will give

3x + y=8

Hope it is clear.

. The equation of a line is typically written as y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. If you a point that a line passes through, and its slope, this page will show you how to find the equation of the line.

therefore the equation is

Y= -3x-7

Hope this one helps you
