A line segment AB is to be divided in the ratio 6:5. Ray AX is drawn such that angle BAX is acute. Also ray BY is drawn parallel to AX and the points A1, A2, A3,.. and B1, B2, B3,.. are located at equal distances on the rays AX and BY respectively. Which two points now will be joined?

6th point on line AX  is joined with 5th point on line BY

To divide a line segment AB in the ratio 6:5,

Step1 : Draw a line segment AB  of some length

Step 2 :  Draw a line segment AX such that ∠BAX is an acute angle

Step 3:  Take 6 point on AX of Equal length one by one ( consecutively)

Step 4:  Take 5 point on BY of Equal length (same as on AX) one by one (

Step 5 :  Join 6th Point on AX with 5th point on BY  as a straight line intersecting AB at M  

 M divides AB in to 6 : 5 Ratio.
