A line segment is divided in two parts in the ratio 25:13,If the smaller one is 6.5 cm ,find the length of the line segment.

When we look at the ration 25:13, we can take this as 25x and 13x

Now 13x is the smaller one whose length is 6.5 cm.

Now:

x = 6.5/13 = 0.5.

So x is 0.5

Now what we do is:

25x+13x = 38x = 38(0.5) = 19 cm

Length is 19 cm
