Given :  line that passes through the points (–4, 10) and (–1, 5)

To find : Equation of line

Solution:

A line that passes through the points (–4, 10) and (–1, 5)

Slope =  ( 5 - 10)/(-1 - (-4))

= -5/3

Equation of line

y  - 5 = (-5/3)(x  - (-1))

=> 3y - 15 =  -5x  - 5

=> 5x + 3y  = 10

5x + 3y  = 10

=> 3y = -5x + 10

=> 3y =  -5(x - 2)

=> y = (-5/3)(x - 2)
