resistance offered by the loop  = 3 Ω

Step-by-step explanation:

a linear resistor of resistance 12 ohm is bent in the form of a circular loop

Resistance  of complete length = 12  ohm

connected in a circuit across its diameter.

Hence will divide in 2 Equal length parts

Resistance is directly proportional to length

R ∝ Length

Hence Each length resistance = 12/2  = 6 Ohm

connected in a circuit across its diameter

Hence both parts will be in parallel

Effective Resistance  in parallel   =  1/( 1/6 + 1/6)

= 6/2

= 3  ohm

resistance offered by the loop  = 3 Ω
