Mahatma Gandhi diminished inequality by preaching equal social status for all and calling lower caste people as "Harijan" meaning child of God. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar who is known as the Father of Indian Constitution abolished untouchability and any such practice and advocated for equal rights of all.
