Answer:

it will remain at the height of 2 feet only because trees grow due to the division of meristematic tissues present at the tip of the shoot and the root. the width of the trunk may increase but the position of the nail will remain the same.

Answer:

Initial height = 64 cm …….(1)

Tree increases every year = 1/8 times of last year height ………(2)

■ From (1) & (2)

● Height after 1 year = Initial height + (1/8)Initial height = 64 + (1/8) × 64 = 64 + 8 = 72 cm

● Height after 2 years = Height after 1 year + (1/8)Height after 1 year = 72 + (1/8) × 72 = 81 cm.

◆ From above conclusion,

Height of tree (after 2 years) = 81 cm.
