A little car has a maximum acceleration of 2.57 m/s2. What is the new maximum acceleration of the little car if it tows another car that has the same mass?

In order to solve this we can use Newton's Second law (F = ma)

For the first part we can write the above equation like below,

F1 = M1 x 2.57 ------------------------------(1)

For the Second part we can write the above equation like below,

F1 = 2M1 x a -------------------------------(2)

By equaling the above two equations,

M1 x 2.57 = 2M1 x a

a = 2.57/2

= 1.285 m/s^2
