Answer:Let the number of passengers with 50 Paise (0.5 Rupee) tickets be x.

Then, number of passengers with 1.50 Rupee tickets would be (40 - x) 

According to question,

0.5x + 1.5(40 - x) = 32

⇒ 0.5x + 60 - 1.5x = 32

⇒ -x + 60 = 32

⇒ x = 28

∴ Number of passengers with 50 Paise tickets is 28
