A long thin plate placed with zero incidence position parallet to the stream of water. Velocity of flow is 6 m/s and the kinematic viscosity is 1 * 10^ (-6) m^2/s. The distance upto which the flow will be laminar is 0.0833 mts or 83.3 mm

1) For a viscous flow through flat plate, Reynolds number upto laminar flow is 5 * 10 ^ 5.

2) Again, Re = ( V * x )/ ν , where V is the velocity of flow, x is the distance, and ν is the kinematic viscosity.

3) So, 5 * 10^5 = ( 6 * x )/(10^-6)

Therefore we get x = 0.0833 m
