Hierarchy is the ascending and descending order of taxonomic categories.


It is known as sequence of categories in a decreasing or increasing order;ranging  from kingdom to species and the reverse order.


Kingdom is the topmost followed division, class, order, family, genus and species.


Species is the lowest rank in hierarchy.


The order is as follows:Hence taxonomic category


species ……….………>…genous…..>family………> order…>class….>phylum /division………>kingdom.
