The presence of the corresponding antigen and antibody will cause a reaction and lead to agglutination due to formation of a Ag - Ab complex.

Also, the Rh factor is detected by using the antiserum with the blood sample. Many types of diseases and infections are identified by adding corresponding antigens to the blood specimens.
