Answer:

245 metres

Explanation:

Given :

  • Final velocity with which it hits the land = V = 70 m/s
  • Acceleration of the lump of ice = a = 10 m/s²
  • Initial velocity of the lump of ice = u = 0 m/s

To find :

  • Height of the plane when the ice fell off = s

Using third equation of motion :

V²-u²=2as

70²-0²=2×10×s

4900-0=20s

4900=20s

S = 4900/20

S = 245 metres

The height of the plane when the lump of ice fell down is equal to 245 metres

✰✰ ANSWER ✰✰

\longmapsto\tt{Initial\:Velocity(u)=0}

\longmapsto\tt{Final\:Velocity(v)=70m/s}

\longmapsto\tt{Acceration(a)=10m/s}

Now ,

Using 3rd Equation of Motion : -

\longmapsto\tt{{v}^{2}-{u}^{2}=2as}

Putting Values : -

\longmapsto\tt{{(70)}^{2}-{(0)}^{2}=2(10)s}

\longmapsto\tt{4900-0=20s}

\longmapsto\tt{4900=20s}

\longmapsto\tt{s=\cancel\dfrac{4900}{20}}

\red\longmapsto\:\large\underline{\boxed{\bf\green{s}\orange{=}\purple{245m}}}

So, The height of plane when ice fell off is 245m...
