a m, and m, are the masses of two bodies. When a force of 5 N is applied on each body, m, gets an acceleration of 10 m/s2 and m, 20 m/s2. If the two bodies are tied together and the same force is applied, find the acceleration of the combined system.

Answer:

now look sharp bro

f=ma

so 5=m10

5=m20

which gives both their masses as 1/2 and 1/4

combined means add them 1/2+1+4

which is 3/4

now we know comined force we need acceleration so same

f=ma

5=3/4a

simplify

20/3m/s2 or 6.66m/s2 is the correct answer

Answer:

F = 5N

a₁ = 10 m/s²

F = m₁a₁

F a1 m₁ 5 10 0.5 kg
