Answer: new mean of the data is 34

Step-by-step explanation:

A.m= sum of observations/no of observations

given, am of 7 observations = 32

           if 48 is added what is the new mean

  1.            32=x/7
  2.            x=224
  3. 48 is added

           y=x+48/8 (in denominator we got 8 because 48 is added. so, we                                                        should add 1 term  to the total no of observations)

           y=224+48/8

                272/8=34

hence, new mean is 34
