                        x+y=14
their product is 45   xy=45
(x+y)^2=x^2+y^2+2xy
  (14)^2=x^2+y^2+2(45)
196=x^2+y^2+90
x^2+y^2=106
(x-y)^2 = x^2+y^2-2xy
            = 106-90
            =16
x-y=4
x+y=14
2x=18
x=9
y=5
