A machine cleans 5000 liters of water everyday which is stored in a water tank. If 1⁄4 of it is used in watering fields and 2/5 of it is used to supply in household work, then find the volume of water left in tank.

According to the question:-

A machine cleans 5000 litres of water everyday.

1/4 of the water is used to water fields.

2/5 of the water is used for household works.

Total water consumed

= Litres of water used to water fields + Litres of water used in household

=1/4 of 5000 litres+2/5 of 5000 litres

=1250 lires + 2000 litres

=3250 litres.

Therefore, water left in the tank

=Litres of water cleaned by machine - Litres of water consumed

=5000 L - 3250 L

=1750 Litres.

Therefore, the volume of water remaining in the tank at the end of the day is 1750 Litres.
