Given

  • 50 Bullets are fired from a gun in one minute
  • Mass of the Bullet = 25 g
  • Velocity = 100 m/s

To Find

  • Power

Solution

Power = Kinetic Energy/Time

Kinetic Energy = ½ mv²

Converting Units :

  • Mass = 25 g = 25/1000 = 0.025 kg
  • Time = 1 min = 1 × 60 = 60 sec

Kinetic Energy :

→ Kinetic Energy = ½mv²

→ Kinetic Energy = ½ × 0.025 × 60²

→ Kinetic Energy = ½ × 0.025 × 3600

→ Kinetic Energy = 0.025 × 1800

→ Kinetic Energy = 45 J

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Power :

→ Power = Kinetic Energy/Time

→ Power = 45/60

→ Power = 0.75 W

A machine gun fires 50 bullets per min. Mass of each bullet is 25 g ; the bullets are moving with speed 100 m/s. Find the

power.

{\bold{\sf{\underbrace{Answer}}}}

{\bold{\sf{\underline{Given \: that}}}}

✰ Gun fires 50 bullets per min.

✰ Mass of each bullet = 25 grams.

✰ Their moving speed / Velocity = 100m/s

{\bold{\sf{\underline{To \: find}}}}

✰ Power.

{\bold{\sf{\underline{Solution}}}}

✰ Power = 0.75 Watts

{\bold{\sf{\underline{Understanding \: the \: question}}}}

✰ This question says that there is a gun who fires 50 bullets per minutes. Mass of each of bullet is 25 g and the bullets are moving with the speed of 100 m/s And we have to ask to find the power.

{\bold{\sf{\underline{Using \: concept}}}}

✰ Kinetic energy

✰ Power

{\bold{\sf{\underline{Using \: formulas}}}}

✰ Kinetic energy = ½ mv²

✰ Power = Kinetic energy / Time

{\bold{\sf{\underline{Converting \: terms \: we \: get}}}}

✰ Let's convert minutes into seconds. And we already know how to convert it. q minutes = 60 seconds. Converting, 1 × 60 = 60 seconds.

✰ Now let's convert g into kg. And we already know how to convert it. 1 gram = 1/1000 kilograms. Now conventing, 25/1000 = 0.025 kilograms.

{\bold{\sf{\underline{Procedure}}}}

✰ To solve this question firstly we have use the formula to find Kinetic energy afterthat putting the values we get 45 Joules. Now using the formula to find power we have to put the values and we get 0.75 Watts as our final result.

{\bold{\sf{\underline{Full \: solution}}}}

Firstly,

➨ Kinetic energy = ½ mv²

➨ Kinetic energy = ½ × 0.025 × (60)²

➨ Kinetic energy = ½ × 0.025 × 3600

➨ Kinetic energy = 0.025 × 1800

➨ Kinetic energy = 45 Joules.

Now,

➨ Power = Kinetic energy / Time

➨ Power = 45/60

➨ Power = 0.75 Watts
