Here the mass of gun is 10 kg.  Mass of bullet is 30 gram.

Velocity is 400. Now to calculate the recoil velocity we have to refer to the law of conservation of momentum MV +mv is equal to 0.

Now V is equal to mv dovided by M which is equal to 30 multiplied by 400 divided by 20 that comes to  600.

Force is now M (v-u) divided by t that is equal to 20(600-0) divided by 1 by 400 that is the force.

Explanation:

Given, m'=10 kg;

v=400 m/s

F=?

We know, F= rate of change in linear momentum

∴F= change in linear momentum/time
