A machine-gun is mounted on a 500 kg vehicle on a smooth horizontal road. The gun fires 10 bullets
per second, each of mass 10g acceleration produced in the vehicle is

Conserving momentum:

the momentum created due to the machine gun is equal to that of vehicle but the both acts in opposite direction.

Momentum p= mass(m)× velocity(v)

500×v= 10×1000×10

velocity v= 200m/s

Acceleration equal to change in velocity, initial velocity of the block is zero and that of final is 200m/s in a time span of 1 s

Therefore acceleration = 200m/s²
