First of all, we need to find the area of one page. As the company has decided to advertise only in half of the page, we have to find the half of the area and multiply the cost for 10 sq cm to that area.

Solution:

Area of the page = 15 cm x 24 cm = 360 cm²

The company has planned to advertise on half of the page. So,

The area of page on which the company advertises = $\dfrac{360}{2}$

= 180 cm²

Cost of advertising on 10 cm² = Rs 300

∴ Cost of advertising on 180 cm²

= $180\times\dfrac{300}{10}$

= 180 x 30

= Rs 5400

∴ The company has to pay Rs 5400 for advertising on half a page of a magazine.
