x is magnesium oxide (MgO) and y is magnesium nitride(Mg3N2)
2mg  + o2 = 2mgo
3mg + n2  = mg3n2

Answer:

2mg+ o2 --> 2MgO

(compound X)

MgO + N2 ----> Mg3N2 + o2

(compound Y)

balanced equation--
