The above condition happens due to the magnetic induction. Also as per Lenz`s Law, it gives direction current indices like it opposes the cause of its induction. This induced current has its magnetic field which gives a force in an upward direction to the magnet. But we know that gravitation force is greater than this induced magnetic force and hence magnet falls down but with acceleration a = g-a(induced).
