A magnet has attractive as well as divertive properties due to presence of POLES in magnet.
If we bring two magnets, both having same pole as north- north, then they will repel each other.
If we bring one magnet having North Pole and other having south pole ( opposite poles), then they will attract each other.
So, this is the phenomenon of determining of attractive and divertive property of a magnet.
