v = 36 cm

f = ?

solution:

for mirror,

1/f = 1/v + 1/u

1/f = 1/36 - 1/12

1/f = 1/36 - 3/36 ......(LCM =36)

1/f = -2/36

1/f = -1/18

therefore, f = -18 cm
