This is because male honey bee is parthenogenetically developed I.e., it is developed from the unfertilized eggs of the queen thus it has half the number of chromosomes the queen has.....whereas the female bee I.e., the queen and the worker are developed from the fertilised eggs of the queen....thus have 32 chromosomes
