The Answer is....

A man, a woman and a boy can do a work in 20, 30 and 60 days respectively. How many boys must assist 2 men and 8 women to do the work in 2 days?

A man does 1/20th or 3/60th of the work in a day.

A woman does 1/30th or 2/60th of the work in a day.

A boy does 1/60th of the work in a day.

In 2 days 2 men do 2*2*3/60 = 12/60th of the work.

In 2 days 8 women do 2*8*2/60 = 32/60th of the work.

So in 2 days 2 men and 8 women have done 12/60 + 32/60 or 44/60th of the work. What remains to be done in 2 days is 60/60 -44/60 = 16/60th of the work. So you need [16/60]/[1/60] or 16 boy-days, i.e 8 boys for 2 days.

Check: [2*2*3 + 2*8*2 + 2*8]/60 = [12 + 32 + 16]/60 = 60/60 = 1.

Answer is 8 boys for 2 days.
