Let the man's age and the sons' age be x and y respectively.

Given

A man age is 3 times the sum of age of his 2 sons

\implies x = 3y

After 5 years, his age will be twice the sum of the ages of his 2 sons.

\implies x +5 = 2(y+10)\\\implies x+5=2y+20\\\implies x-2y = 20-5\\\implies x - 2y = 15

Substituting x = 3y in the second equation, we get,

3y-2y=15\\\implies y = 15

\implies x = 3(15)\\\implies x = 45

\boxed{\boxed{\bold{Therefore, \ the \ father \ is \ 45 \ years \ old}}}}}}}}

Answer:

Pls mark as brainliest if it helps.

Step-by-step explanation:

So, let the ages of his sons be x and y.

Then the man's age would be 3 ( x + y )

Now, we also know that after 5 years his age will be twice the sum of the ages of his 2 sons . Hence,

2 ( x + y + 10) is his age after 5 years.

So, now we we will try to relate them,

3(x + y)  +  5= 2 (x + y + 10 )

3x + 3y + 5 = 2x + 2y + 20

x + y = 20 - 5

x + y = 15

Hence, Man's age is:

3(x + y) = 3 * 15

= > 45 years
