A man blood group A marries with a woman with blood group O and their daughter has blood group O.Is this information enough to tell you which of the trait-blood group A or O is dominant?Why or why not?

Yes.


The man is heterozygous A i.e. he contains Ia Io alleles.Here O is recessive and hence the phenotype is A


The women is homozygous O i.e. she contains Io Io alleles.Here O is expressed only in homozygous condition.Hence O group is most recessive.


Their daughter has received Io alleles from both the parents.Hence she is homozygous for blood group O i.e Io Io genotype is seen.
