Given: Amount borrowed from the bank = Rs. 8,000

          Interest rate = 8% per annum

          Time =  years

To find: The amount he has to pay after the given time

Solution: According to the given problem,

Principal (P) = Rs. 8,000

Rate (R) = 8% per annum

Time (T) =  years

Amount to be paid after given time = Principal amount + Interest

.: Simple interest = (Principal x Rate x Time)/100

                           = (8,000 x 8 x 9/2)/100

                           = (8,000 x 8 x 9)/(100 x 2)

                           = Rs. 2,880

Amount to be paid at the end of  the given time period = Rs. 8,000 + Rs. 2,880

                                                                                    = Rs. 10,880

Hence, he has to pay Rs. 10,880 after  years.
