amount=₹3600

S.I.=A-P

=3600-x

S.I. = P ×T×R/100

3600-x= x*5*10/100

3600-x= x/2

3600=x/2+x

3600= 3 x/2

x=3600*2/3

x= 7200/3

=2400

so,principal is ₹2400.
