A man borrowed some money from the bank at 10% per annum simple interest for 5 years. He paid back ₹36000 to the bank and settled the account. What sum did borrow from the bank?

RATE=10% P.A.
TIME=5 YEARS
PRINCIPAL=36000RS.
S.I.= P*R*T/100
=36000*10*5/100
=18000
AMOUNT=S.I.+PRINCIPAL
=18000+36000
=54000

Given,

Rate= 10%,

Time= 5years,

Principal= 36000Rs.

Now,

S.I.= P×R×T/100

= 36000×10×5/100=18000Rs.

S.I.= A-P

= 18000Rs.= A-36000Rs.

= A= 18000+36000

Amount= 54000Rs.
