Step-by-step explanation:

Total petrol brought=10 litres

Petrol used= Petrol used in car+ Petrol used in scooter = 5/1/2+3/2/9

( solving mixed fraction)

=11/2+29/9

Taking LCM of 9 and 2 i.e. 18

=11*9/18+29*2/9

=99/18+58/18

=99+58/18

=15/18

=8.72 litres of petrol left

Answer:

a man bought = 10 litre petrol

he used in car = 11\2 litre petrol

and then again used in scooter = 29\9

there for left petrol = total petrol - used petrol

=10-(11\2+29\9)

= 10-157\18

= 10 -8.72

= 1.28
