The selling price of one chair is Rs. 18.75

Solution:

Let the selling price of one chair be x.

The selling price of 25 chairs, S.P. = 25 × the selling price of one chair

                                                 = Rs. 25x

The selling price of 5 chairs = 5x

∴ Profit, P = Selling price of 5 chairs = 5x

Profit, P = Selling price of 5 chairs

P = S.P. - C.P.

5x = 25x - 375

25x - 375 = 5x

25x - 5x = 375

20x = 375

x = 375/20

x = Rs. 18.75

Hence, selling price of one chair, x = Rs. 18.75
