Given :-
MP = Rs 3000
Discount = 15%
Profit = 400
To Find :-
CP
______________________________________________________________
Solution :-
............( 100 - 15 )
SP = ----------------- × 100
..................100
= Rs 2500
As we know that,
SP - CP = PROFIT
=> CP = SP - PROFIT
=> CP = Rs (2550 - 400)
=> CP = Rs 2150

let's learn the formula for finding Selling price first!
>>
the formula is ,
Selling price =
Marked price - Discount
Marked price is rupees 3000
discount% is 15%
>>
We will have to find the discount given,
so, we will have to find 15% of 3000
>>>
(15/100)3000
=> 15(30)
=> 450
Discount given is rupees 450!
Now, we have to find the Selling price!
As we know,
Marked price - Discount = Selling price!
3000 - 450 = Selling price !
2550 = Selling price!
Now, we will have to find the Cost price!
Profit given is rupees 400..
>>>
Profit = Selling price - Cost price!
=> 400 = 2550 - Cost price!
=> Cost price = 2550 - 400
=> Cost price = 2150!
Cost price is rupees 2150!
Hope my answer helps you!
