A man buys milk at 4 per litre, mixes it with water and
sells the mixture at the same price. If his profit is 25%,
find the amount of water mixed with each litre of milk.

Profit%=(profit/cp)*100

In this case profit is 25 percent

Profit%=(1/4)*100

If profit is 1 ,then cp is 4,that means for every 4 lit milk he purchase and he is adding 1 lit water, overall he is selling 5 lit in that water is 1 lit,water percentage in the mixture is 20 percent

Or

Rif cp of one lit milk is RS 10

Sp is 12.5 to get 25 percent profit

For RS 12.5 he can sell 1000 ml

For RS 10 how much he can sell (1000/12.5)*10

800 ml

In every one lit he is selling milk is 800 ml and remaining is water..200 ml water in one lit…so water percentage is 20
