children fare = 65/100*4096
=2662.4
2 adults = 4096*2=8192
3 children =2662.4*3=7987.2
total fare is 8192+7987.2=16179.2

Given: Number of adults= 2(The man and his wife), Number of children= 3, adult fare- Rs 4096.

To find: Total cost of the journey, cost of ticket of the children.

Solution:

Given that the adult fare of the journey is= Rs 4096

Child fare= 65 per cent of the adult fare

Child fare= \frac{65}{100} × 4096

Child fare= Rs 2662.4

So the cost of the ticket for one child is Rs 2662.4

Total cost= Total Adult fare + Total children fare

Total adult fare= 2 × 4096 = Rs 8192       (Because the number of adults is 2)

Total children fare= 3 × 2662.4= Rs 7987.2     (Because there are 3 children)

Total cost= Rs 8192 + Rs 7987.2

Total cost= Rs 16179.2

Hence the total fare cost Rs 16179.2
