Given:

The cost of 2 apples and 3 kiwi fruits is ₹37.

The cost of 4 apples and 5 kiwi fruits is ₹67.

Find:

Cost of 1 Apple and 1 kiwi fruit.

Solution:

Let the cost of one apple be ₹x and the cost of 1 kiwi fruit be ₹y.

Now, writing what is given in the form of 2 equations:

2x + 3y = 37. - A

4x + 5y = 67. - B

Multiplying Equation A by 2 and subtracting this with Equation B:

4x + 6y = 74

- 4x - 5y = - 67

y = 7.

Substituting y in equation A:

2x + 3(7) = 37.

2x = 37 - 21.

x = 16/2.

x = 8.

Therefore, the cost of 1 Apple is ₹8 and the cost of 1 kiwi fruit is ₹7. And the cost of 1 Apple and 1 kiwi fruit is ₹(8 + 7) = ₹15.

Answer:

Cost of 1 apple = ₹8.

Cost of 1 kiwi fruit = ₹7.

Cost of 1 Apple and 1 kiwi fruit = ₹15.

Answer:

Given :-

  • A man buys 2 apples and 3 kiwi fruits for Rs 37, if he buys 4 apples and 5 kiwi fruits for Rs 67.

To Find :-

  • What is the total cost of one apple and one kiwi fruit.

Solution :-

Let,

\mapsto Cost of 1 apple be Rs a

\mapsto Cost of 1 kiwi fruit be Rs b

Now, according to the question :

\leadsto A man buys 2 apples and 3 kiwi fruits for Rs 37.

\implies \sf 2a + 3b =\: 37

\implies \sf \bold{\purple{2a + 3b =\: 37\: ------\: (Equation\: No\: 1)}}\\

Again,

\leadsto A man buys 4 apples and 5 kiwi fruits for Rs 67.

\implies \sf 4a + 5b =\: 67

\implies \sf\bold{\purple{4a + 5b =\: 67\: ------\: (Equation\: No\: 2)}}\\

Now, by multiplying the equation no 1 by 2 we get,

\implies \sf\bold{\purple{ 4a + 6b =\: 74\: ------\: (Equation\: No\: 3)}}\\

Now, by subtracting the equation no 3 with equation no 2 we get,

\implies \sf 4a + 6b - (4a + 5b) =\: 74 - 67

\implies \sf 4a + 6b - 4a - 5b =\: 7

\implies \sf {\cancel{4a}} {\cancel{- 4a}} + 6b - 5b =\: 7

\implies \sf\bold{\green{b =\: 7}}

Again, by putting b = 7 in the equation no 2 we get,

\implies \sf 4a + 5b =\: 67

\implies \sf 4a + 5(7) =\: 67

\implies \sf 4a + 35 =\: 67

\implies \sf 4a =\: 67 - 35

\implies \sf 4a =\: 32

\implies \sf a =\: \dfrac{\cancel{32}}{\cancel{4}}

\implies \sf a =\: \dfrac{8}{1}

\implies \sf\bold{\green{a =\: 8}}

Hence,

\mapsto \sf \bold{Cost\: of\: 1\: apple =\: Rs\: 8}

\mapsto \sf\bold{Cost\: of\: 1\: kiwi\: fruit\: =\: Rs\: 7}

Now, we have to find the total cost of 1 apple and 1 kiwi fruit :

\longrightarrow \sf Total\: cost =\: Cost\: of\: 1\: apple\: + Cost\: of\: 1\: kiwi\: fruit\\

\longrightarrow \sf Total\: cost =\: Rs\: 8\: + Rs\: 7\\

\longrightarrow \sf\bold{\red{Total\: cost =\: Rs\: 15}}

\therefore The total cost of one apple and one kiwi fruit is Rs 15.
