1 man can complete the work (1 piece of work) in 4 days.
This means that in 1 day he will complete 1/4th of the work.
1 woman can complete the same work (1 piece of work) in 12 days.
This means that in 1 day she will complete 1/12th of the work.
So in 1 day, if they work together, they will complete (1/4 + 1/12) of the work; which is 1/3rd of the work.
So if they are able to complete 1/3rd of the work in 1 day, they will complete the entire work in 3 days.
3 days only together
