A man can do 7/10 parts of a piece of work in 1 day. and his eife can do 9/15 parts of thecsame work in 1 day. Who has better working efficiency ?

The man's work


A man can do 7 / 10 th work in 1 day


The elite's work


The elite can do 9 / 15 th work in 1 day


Finding the better worker


We need to check whether 7 / 10 > 9 / 15 or not !


Take L.C.M of 10 and 15 .

10 = 2 × 5

15 = 3 × 5

L.C.M = 2 × 3 × 5

          = 30


7 / 10 can be written as    7 × 3 / 10 × 3

                                        = 21 / 30

9 / 15 can be written as    9 × 2 / 15 × 2

                                        = 18 / 30

Obviously 21 / 30 > 18 / 30


Hence : 7 / 10 > 9 / 15

Thus the man can do more work in 1 day

Man's one daywork =7/10
His wife's 1 day work=9/15
LCM of 10,15=30
7/10=21/30
9/15=18/30
7/10 > 9/15
Therefore ,the man has better working efficiency than his wife
