A can do piece of work in 8 days.
1 day work of A=1/8
B can do piece of work in 24 days.
So,one day work of B=1/24
(A+B)'s one day work=
$= \frac{1}{8} + \frac{1}{24} \\ = \frac{3 + 1}{24} \\ = \frac{4}{24} = \frac{1}{6}$
Hence,they can together complete the work in 6 days.
