Let the trip covered at 18km/hr be x = x/18.                               ------------------ (1)

So, Part of the trip covered at 15km/hr is (136 - x) = (136 - x)/15  -------------- (2)

On solving (1) and (2), we get

(136 - x)/15  + x/18 = 8(Given 8 hours)

(2448 - 18x + 15x)/ 15 * 18 = 8

2448 - 3x = 2160

3x = 288

x = 96km.

Hope this helps!

96km is the part of the trip that is covered at the speed of 18km/hr.

Step-by-step explanation:

Total distance of the trip = 136km

Time taken to complete the trip = 8hours

Let the distance covered the speed of 15km/hr be x

& let the distance covered the speed of 18km/her be y

∵  x + y = 136........(1)

x/15 + y/18 = 8 ⇒ (64 + 54)/90 = 8

⇒ 6x + 5y = 720......(2)

by solving (1) and (2)

6x + 6y = 816

6x  + 5y = 720

∵ y = 96km

 x = 136 - 96 = 40Km

Thus, the trip covered at the speed of 18km/hr was 96km.
